Revisiting Your Blueprint of Heaven

"What you can behold, you can become." - John-Roger

Anytime of year is a good time to revisit the blueprint of heaven that you have envisioned for yourself. During this frantic season, full of lengthy to-do lists, parties, and extra activities, stress can overwhelm an already full agenda with expectations and attachments to an idealized ‘picture’ of the perfect holidays.

Heavens can easily turn into idealized pictures, as well. You create your blueprint, or perfect picture of what your personal paradise should or could be and when life doesn’t measure up – abandon ship and settle for a lack luster existence.

I recently pulled out my blueprint of my personal heaven created in January 2003. At the beginning of this year, I wrote several intention statements about my coaching business, book sales, financial prosperity and happiness. I visualized it, gave it to God, let go and went about taking my steps.

So how did my idealized vision of heaven match up with what came forward this year?

Well, if I look at the specifics of what I originally visualized – there wasn’t much of a match. The outward picture of what actually came forward missed the mark. But if I choose to look beyond the idealized picture to the inner rewards, learnings, and growth what spirit brought forward actually surpassed my picture.

For one thing, I have more clarity about what brings me joy and happiness as I am building my business and promoting my book. In 2004 I plan to do more joy-filled activities.

Also, I have more peace and a growing sense that everything is coming forward perfectly. Instead of worrying about whether the workshop will be full, I focus on connecting with my audience. Rather than counting the books sold, I am more interested in the hearts that open, the smiles of awareness, and the "Thank you. That’s exactly what I needed to hear." My job is to relax, keep taking my steps, and allow the process. AHHHH! What a relief!

My personal heaven for this moment and for the year ahead, regardless of the outward picturing is to have more joy, peace and spirit-filled surprises! When I ‘heaven’ this moment then I give myself lasting upliftment. Now that’s a wonderful gift to give and receive in this season of light!

If your idealized picture has missed the mark here are a few questions to bring your greater reality back into view and claim the gifts that are present.

  1. How are you doing with letting go?

  2. Do you remember that heavening is a choice you can make in any moment?

  3. What do you do to shift yourself out of self-negativity, doubt, and fear into peace, joy, and contentment?

  4. Is God really your partner or are your hands still on the steering wheel?

  5. What do you need to sacrifice inside yourself to move into greater trust, cooperation and gratitude?

Tip of the Month: Self Respond-ability

"A sobering thought: what if, right at this very moment, I am living up to my full potential?" – Jane Wagner

When I am judging myself I do not have the ability to respond to what life is bringing forward. Instead I am reacting. I am reacting to my own inner voices of shame and blame, harsh damning words of disapproval, and self-condemnation of how I am ‘not good enough’.

This inner negative self-talk keeps me defended and on guard. I anticipate the judgment before it ever comes limiting my ability to respond from a place of peace; thoughtful consideration, balance and harmony, or neutrality.

The result is usually a trigger fast temper.

Ways to defuse the trigger:

  1. Practice self-forgiveness daily as a preventive remedy for balance and inner harmony

  2. Track the inner critic’s voice through your body and locate the exact area that you need to minister comfort and safety

  3. Speak kind words to parts of you that seem on edge or quick to anger

  4. Comfort and sooth old hurts and wounds remembering that giving yourself a big hug goes a long way.

Soon, your ability to respond to life will increase and you will begin to see the lessons as for you, rather than against you.

Practicing Self-Mastery: It’s Not Personal

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." – Marcel Proust

Life is not personal. Wow! That was a radical statement when I first heard it back in my 20’s. I had no idea what an impersonal life was and, to tell the truth, I didn’t want one. I was too attached to my drama and trauma – my feelings were god and my mind was the captain of my reality. Impersonal felt unattached, boring, and much too sedate.

Many years later, bloody and battered from allowing my feelings to run the show I was desperately looking for another way to live.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that my feelings and my thoughts did not originate from truth or produce new and fresh insights. I was not growing emotionally. My life was a rerun – and the episodes were getting pretty old.

Deciding to not take life personally I discovered a ‘me’ that was peaceful, full of wisdom, compassionate, and unconditional loving. This ‘me’ observed feelings rather than believed them. The mind became just one of the voices inside rather than the loudest, and a tangible sense of well-being replaced the highs and lows of my emotional roller coaster ride. And this calm, peaceful me turned out to know the answers to many of my questions.

Stepping back from life to observe, and listen inside to a greater voice is a necessary step to living from our divinity and cocreating heaven.

A few steps to take:

  1. Spend a day observing an emotion that is habitual for you. For example: If you are quick to anger while driving in traffic observe your anger. Notice what your mind says; track your body responses. Do you spend the next few minutes in obsessive thoughts?

  2. Day Two – while still observing your anger ask yourself, What is going on underneath my anger? Am I afraid? Are my feelings hurt? What is the real source of my anger?

  3. Day Three – Ask your Good Inner Guide (High self, Spirit, etc) to be present with you in the car. Set an intention to observe your feelings, and ask for a higher perspective; a learning; a new revelation. What happens in your body?

  4. Write this new awareness down and repeat it to yourself on Day Four while you are driving in your car.

Repeat as often as necessary.

Cocreating with Your Divinity: Life is full of blessings as long as I Bless It

"Today I live in the quiet, joyous expectation of good." – Ernest Holmes

How often do you bless your life? Do you ask God to bless your life and give you the insight and awareness to see the blessings?

Asking God to bless your family, career, finances, or creativity begins a partnership where you participate in a greater way in the blessing. It’s as it God is saying, "Wonderful. Now be my eyes, ears, hands and voice and bless it all."

Having trouble seeing the blessing?

What can you do in this moment to shift into upliftment?

Can you love a situation?

Can you forgive a seemingly ‘personal’ comment?

Will you let go of needing someone else to do it your way?

Have you done what you can to heal and move on from a past hurt?

Every shift you choose to move out of fear, despair or guilt is a blessing. Every time you ask for assistance to ‘see’ beyond the surface and discover how a challenge is for you is a gift.

Can you bless everything just as it is? When you act as if there is a blessing present, you enhance your capacity to perceive blessings.

Bless your life; bless the people in your life; bless the world and all the governments; bless God for ALL that is coming your way…and receive the richness of a blessed life!

My Heaven

Katharine Giovanni, author of God, is that you? is my guest heaven-maker. Her passion is teaching people how to have a two-way conversation with Spirit. To Katharine, this is pure heaven.

Ask for it and start listening!

By Katharine Giovanni

My personal heaven is teaching people how to go within themselves and listen. It’s like learning to read. We are all born with the ability. We just need a teacher to come along and teach us how to do it.

Why do people assume that God won’t talk to us? It’s hard to overcome doubt and fear when they have been instilled in most of us for decades. I work through my fear based thoughts through carefully worded positive affirmations and by talking to God. On the planet right now normal everyday people know how to listen…and are overcoming their fear. Some of us, like me, can ‘hear’ God. Others actually can ‘see’ the answers. Still others can ‘feel’ God…through their senses. Lastly, some prefer to just ‘know’ God.

There is an ocean of untapped knowledge waiting to be learned. Knowledge that can heal the sick, help the planet, create prosperity and bring peace to our world.

Personally, I am never alone. I have help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I have a constant companion to talk to, laugh and joke around with, cry with, and have serious chats with when I need it. I also make God and the spirit world my business partners. My company has soared to the top! I have asked very blunt and specific questions and have received answers. When I do it ‘God’s way’ everything goes better than great!

We are all scared of the unknown. God has been gently talking to me to overcome my own doubts and fears. I’m choosing NOT to be scared and have doubts. I am choosing to live a prosperous, loving and light-filled life. I talk to my friends: God, angels and spirit guides, and get guidance, light, love and unlimited opportunities!

We were never meant to walk this life alone. We were always meant to have help. Help is not only on the way…it is here now. Choose to change your life and you will. Life is as simple or as difficult as we make it.

Right now…this moment is your golden moment of realization. All you have to do is ask for it…and start listening.
